‘Parzelle 109’
Greenhouses were introduced for growing plants outside their natural climate and season. Deeply connected with colonialism, they bring with them a state of exoticism and alienation from the land of origin.
This work consists of three transparent cubes, in which flowers inside are framed for protection and admiration. Yet, they are restricted to their environment. It is only through traces and holes left by insects that they are enabled to grow out of it.
Parzelle 109 is situated in Berlin, Weissensee.
